I think maybe the strip of stark white on the right side of the hat is too harsh - a really light pink would fit the soft, warm theme of the picture better.
Other than that, it's absolutely lovely. Her hand is so well-rendered, and the colors are wonderfully smooth. Seriously, brava for your first vexel, and I hope you keep at it.
Vexelling is basically a 'simulated' vector effect. Vectors are made up of lots of individual paths, and can be scaled up to any size. A vexel also uses these paths (hence the many separate levels of shading), but its been done in a raster program so it can't be infinitely resized.
