Artist's CommentsConcept: I have taken inspiration from the best features of the 2 logos dA is currently using. I really like the 'geeky', futuristic style of the new one, but it is quite static, and the multiple strokes aren't particularly easy on the eyes. I've tried to stick to a geometric form without producing something that is a little too 'sci-fi'. As well as rounding the shape, the swooshes give that little bit of extra movement and flow. In effect, it combines the precision of a digital theme with subtle 'artistic' touches. One thing I haven't liked in dA's logos is the poor legibility of the A. I concentrated on making sure the design is legible, but not simple enough to make it boring or unoriginal. The typography has been made with a customized serif font, and its design to follow the sleek, modern theme. the gap between the d and t also creates an ideal space for the mark to be placed, as shown on the mockup. As you can see, a lot of thought and time has been put into this design. I hope you like it as much as I do Note: Updated the text and mockup. other logo: [link] |

An incredibly large amount of people like my avatar!
Do you?
The image you put as a preview, now, THAT is some sleek looking design. I can seriously see that thing on the front page without anyone minding it. So all in all the design isn't bad, I think the with-text version just didn't look as good because of a resized image. Overall, very nice design!
Fantastic!!
